Build Diary 7
After a lovely couple of weeks of sunshine and only intermittent showers, we’re now back to long and steady afternoon rains. This means that we’re up nice and early (at least most of the time) to get as much done as possible before the torrents start up around lunch time. This is not to say that we know when to pack up and head home, far from it. Rather than learning our lesson and watching the sky, we continue to get stuck in the most hilarious places before making it back home to the safety of a hot cup of tea and two puppies. As I type this post, I’m sitting on a bucket of paint in the local hardware store, waiting for the worst rain to pass. Oh, the joys of building during the wet season!!
Regardless of the rain, we’ve been able to install a few more wall panels for the garage/office, all the while watching that sky turn blacker and blacker.
We also had the remaining GRC boards for the living room/kitchen floor delivered which really should be a story in itself. Suffice it to say that our access road has been completely destroyed by the recent rains and work trucks of the neighbouring building site, making any deliveries for us near impossible. This means that just about everything has so be carried to site by hand.
We also got around to roughing in some of the electrical cables for the kitchen/living area. To do this, we used brackets and conduit to run the cables underneath the floor, which will supply power to the kitchen and bedroom.
This is it for this week’s update! Thanks for reading and until next week!
